Gulmarg, often referred to as the “Meadow of Flowers,” transforms into a winter sports wonderland from December to March. It is renowned for its skiing and snowboarding opportunities. The Gulmarg Gondola is one of the highest cable cars in the world, reaching an altitude of 3,979 meters, and offers spectacular views of the snow-covered Himalayas. The Phase 1 of the Gondola takes you to Kongdoori Mountain, where beginners can enjoy skiing, while Phase 2 takes you to the Apharwat Peak, perfect for advanced skiers and snowboarders.
In summer, Gulmarg turns into a trekker’s paradise. The Alpather Lake trek is a popular day hike that takes you to a stunning high-altitude lake, often frozen until late June. Khilanmarg is another beautiful trek, offering panoramic views of the Nanga Parbat and the surrounding peaks.
